Shona Kelly Consultant, Health and Safety Northland, Director, ReflectNZ Ltd is a HASANZ Registered, SafePlus Accredited Assessor, an Occupational Health Nurse, Executive Coach, Mediator and Health and Safety training provider.
A Registered Nurse since 1975, Shona has practiced in a range of nursing environments both in the USA and New Zealand, and was employed from 1998 – 2013 as an Occupational Health Nurse (RN/OHN) and Health and Safety Inspector/HSNO Officer with OSH/DoL/MBIE NZ. During this time Shona completed a number of university and other tertiary education qualifications (see qualifications below).
Working with a standard-setting team within DoL, and as a member of the Notifiable Occupational Diseases (NODs) Psychosocial review panel, Shona contributed to the development of the Best Practice Guidelines ‘Preventing and Responding to Workplace Bullying’ published Feb 2014.
In 2013 Shona established ReflectNZ Ltd, Health and Safety Northland to assist organisations in establishing safe and healthy workplaces based in the development of sound personalised systems, strong leadership and worker participation.
In 2014 Shona registered with NZTE as a health and safety systems and pre-audit training provider, and in 2016 as an executive and organisational coach. ReflectNZ Ltd, Health and Safety Northland, is registered to accept NZTE Capability Development Vouchers.
Also in 2014, Shona was accredited by ACC as an external auditor for the WSMP programme.
In 2015, Shona was invited by ACC and the Northland Chambers of Commerce to join the team of judges for the Northland Westpac Business Awards, judging the workplace health and safety entrants both in 2015 and again in 2016.
In February 2017 the last of the ACC WSMP audits was completed. Over three years, Shona had completed 50 ACC audits and numerous privately-requested audits and assessments through her business ReflectNZ Ltd.

Shona was accredited as a SafePlus Accredited Assessor in November 2017. The accreditation confirms her ability to support organisations taking the next steps in achieving the best health and safety outcomes. Her HASANZ Registration is confirmation of having met a high standard as a Health and Safety Practitioner, meeting the consulting standard recommended by WorkSafe NZ.
